A Tinos, le minéral est un des acteurs majeurs du paysage. Mais il n’est rien sans l’eau qui le sculpte et le révèle.
Passionné par le minéral, je le suis également par l’eau. C’est ce couple qui nous raconte l’histoire des territoires. Et ce lien entre eau douce et eau salée nous indique souvent une trace de vie.
À Tinos, près de chez moi, je connais depuis toujours une petite source au trajet le plus court jusqu’à la mer, quelques mètres.
Travaillant sur l’idée de l’assèchement de la planète, j’ai imaginé “une source sèche”. Un parfait oxymore à l’image des enjeux contradictoires d’aujourd’hui.

In Tinos, the mineral is one of the major actors of the landscape. But it is nothing without the water that sculpts and reveals it.
Passionate about minerals, I am also passionate about water. It’s the two that tell us the story of soils. And this link between fresh and salt water often indicates a trace of life.
In Tinos, near my home, I have
always known a small spring with the shortest route to the sea, a few meters. Working on the idea of the drying up of the planet, I imagined “a dry spring”. A perfect oxymoron in the image of today’s contradictory issues.

Στην Τήνο, το ορυκτό είναι ένας από τους κύριους παράγοντες του τοπίου. Αλλά δεν είναι τίποτα χωρίς το νερό που το σμιλεύει και το αποκαλύπτει.
Είμαι γοητευμένος με τα ορυκτά, αλλά είμαι επίσης με το νερό. Αυτά τα δύο είναι που μας μιλάνε την ιστορία των εδαφών. Και αυτός ο σύνδεσμος μεταξύ γλυκού και αλμυρού νερού υποδηλώνει συχνά ένα ίχνος ζωής.
Στην Τήνο, κοντά στο σπίτι μου, γνώριζα πάντα μια μικρή πηγή με τη συντομότερη διαδρομή προς τη θάλασσα, μόλις λίγα μέτρα. Δουλεύοντας πάνω στην ιδέα της ξήρανσης του πλανήτη, φαντάστηκα : “η ξηρή πηγή”. Ένα τέλειο οξύμωρο που αντικατοπτρίζει τα αντιφατικά ζητήματα του σήμερα.
